The Carryme is a 9-foot wooden dinghy designed by William Atkin as a practical, lightweight solution for sailors needing a reliable tender that's easy to carry, tow, and store. Atkin designed Carryme in response to a common complaint among boaters-that most small dinks are either too heavy, too unstable, or too cumbersome on deck. His answer was this smart, flat-bottom design: strong, simple, and efficient, yet remarkably seaworthy for its size.Our factory faithfully recreates the Carryme using premium materials such as Western Red Cedar, Teak, Mahogany, and US -made Hexcel fiberglass with System Three marine spar varnish. Each model is hand-built using the traditional plank-on-frame construction method, requiring 4-5 months of detailed craftsmanship. Customers may fully customize the boat-adjusting size, finish, and interior features to their preference.Carryme measures 9 feet in length. The design emphasizes simplicity and function-reducing unnecessary structure while maintaining strength and balance. Her modest flare and ample freeboard ensure dry, comfortable rowing even in choppy water.
