Açıklama
The Aber is a versatile traditional rowing and sailing dinghy inspired by classic European coastal craft. Designed with balanced proportions and a seaworthy hull form, the Aber reflects the practical elegance of small boats built for sheltered bays, estuaries, and inland waters. Its refined sheer line and generous beam provide both visual harmony and reassuring stability, making it suitable for relaxed family outings as well as spirited rowing sessions.
Our workshop faithfully builds the Aber using premium marine materials including Western Red Cedar, Mahogany, and Teak, reinforced with U.S. made Hexcel fiberglass and finished with System Three marine spar varnish. Each vessel is entirely hand built using the traditional plank on frame method, ensuring strength, durability, and authentic craftsmanship. The hull is carefully shaped to deliver smooth tracking under oars and balanced handling when equipped with a simple sailing rig. Typical build time is approximately 3 to 4 months depending on configuration.
Clients may customize dimensions, wood species, finish tone, seating arrangement, sailing setup, and interior detailing to create a bespoke version suited to personal preferences and intended waters.

The Aber boat takes its name and inspiration from the coastal heritage of Celtic regions, where small rowing and sailing craft were essential for daily life. In places like Wales and western Britain, the word aber refers to a river mouth or estuary, areas where sturdy and versatile boats were needed to navigate changing tides and shallow waters.
Traditional working boats from these regions were designed for stability, simplicity, and reliability, serving fishing communities for generations. The Aber reflects this maritime legacy through its balanced hull form and practical layout, well suited for calm coastal cruising and inland waterways.
Today, the Aber continues the spirit of historic estuary boats, blending classic craftsmanship with modern recreational boating tradition.
