History
The F/V Ocean Hunter is a rugged commercial fishing vessel built to perform in the harsh and unpredictable waters of Alaska. Homeported in Kodiak, Alaska, the 95-foot vessel features a heavily reinforced steel hull designed to withstand the demanding weather and sea conditions of the Bering Sea. With a 25-foot beam and a deep 15-foot draft, the F/V Ocean Hunter was purpose-built for commercial Weathervane Scallop harvesting and is also equipped to fish for groundfish and Pacific Cod during the winter season. Large refrigerated fish holds allow the vessel to preserve its catch during extended fishing voyages.

Throughout its years of commercial service, the F/V Ocean Hunter has earned a reputation for exceptional durability and dependable performance in challenging offshore environments. Powered by an 850-horsepower diesel engine, the vessel features a forward-mounted wheelhouse that maximizes the expansive aft working deck, providing ample space for heavy scallop dredges, hydraulic fishing equipment, and deck operations while offering additional protection for the crew from freezing sea spray.
