Named after the daughter of her first captain, William Morrissey, the vessel was constructed with an exceptionally sturdy hull designed to endure the treacherous Grand Banks environment. For nearly three decades, she operated as a highly productive fishing schooner, earning a reputation for speed and reliability under sail.
