Commissioned in 1990, USCGC Forward is named after the first Revenue Cutter Forward, which served during the Civil War. The cutter's primary missions include drug interdiction, search and rescue, and fisheries enforcement in the Atlantic and Caribbean. Forward's operational successes include high-profile narcotics seizures and participation in joint maritime operations with international partners. Its advanced technology and skilled crew ensure its effectiveness in safeguarding U.S. waters.
