1623 Anne – 36-Inch Handcrafted Wooden Model
Own a handcrafted replica of one of the notable ships of early American colonial history. The Anne is best known for its 1623 voyage from England to Plymouth Colony, carrying additional settlers and much-needed supplies to the Pilgrim community established just three years earlier. Arriving during a critical period in the colony's development, the ship played an important role in strengthening the young settlement and supporting its continued growth. Today, the Anne stands as a lasting symbol of perseverance, hope, and the determination of those who helped shape the future of New England.
Our 36-inch handcrafted 1623 Anne model faithfully captures the timeless beauty of this historic sailing vessel. Each model is individually built by experienced craftsmen using the traditional plank-on-frame construction method—the same principle used in real wooden shipbuilding. We select only premium hardwoods, including Western Red Cedar, Teak, and Mahogany, to ensure exceptional durability, refined craftsmanship, and a timeless museum-quality finish.
Every element is carefully recreated, from the ship's gracefully curved hull and towering masts to its intricate rigging, hand-finished wooden deck, bowsprit, stern gallery, traditional longboat, and other signature features that define a 17th-century merchant sailing ship. Rather than being mass-produced, each model is handcrafted with meticulous attention to detail, resulting in a display piece worthy of any maritime, historical, or nautical collection.
The 36-inch model offers a larger, more commanding display while showcasing an even greater level of craftsmanship and detail. Its increased size allows the 1623 Anne's elegant hull, authentic rigging, and classic sailing ship architecture to stand out more prominently, making it an impressive centerpiece for an office, study, library, display cabinet, or dedicated collection room. Ideal for maritime enthusiasts, historians, collectors, educators, and admirers of early American history, the 36-inch version provides a stronger visual presence and enhanced realism while remaining practical enough for most display spaces. It is the perfect choice for those seeking a substantial museum-quality replica that commemorates one of the important voyages in the establishment of Plymouth Colony.
Each piece is individually handcrafted, and production typically takes 3–6 months, depending on the model's size and complexity. Throughout the process, we'll keep you updated with detailed progress photos at every major milestone, allowing you to review the craftsmanship and approve each stage before we move forward.
You'll receive photos during:

History
The Anne was a pivotal vessel in the early history of English settlement in North America, transporting a significant group of colonists to the struggling Plymouth Colony in 1623. Chartered by the Merchant Adventurers, the ship was a merchant vessel of approximately 140 tons under the command of the experienced mariner Captain William Peirce. Departing England in the spring of 1623 alongside the smaller Little James, the Anne carried roughly 60 passengers, including families, skilled craftsmen, and essential supplies intended to bolster the fledgling colony. After a grueling Atlantic crossing lasting nearly three months, the ship arrived at Plymouth in July 1623, providing the critical manpower and provisions that substantially improved the colony's prospects for long-term survival.
The arrival of the Anne served as a major turning point for Plymouth Colony. Many of its passengers were family members reuniting with settlers who had arrived aboard the Mayflower in 1620, an influx that helped transform the settlement into a more stable and permanent community. The newcomers contributed to advancements in agriculture, construction, trade, and local governance, effectively laying the foundation for future development throughout New England. After completing its mission, the Anne returned to England to resume commercial service, but its historic voyage secured its lasting place in the American colonial narrative. Today, the ship is remembered as a symbol of perseverance, hope, and new beginnings, with a full-scale replica at the Plimoth Patuxet Museums in Massachusetts offering visitors an immersive look at the craftsmanship of the vessel that helped shape one of America's earliest permanent English settlements.
