Each model is individually built by experienced craftsmen using the traditional plank-on-frame construction method—the same principle used in authentic wooden shipbuilding. We select only premium hardwoods, including Western Red Cedar, Teak, and Mahogany, to ensure exceptional durability, fine craftsmanship, and a timeless finish.

History
The American Duchess made her inaugural voyage in August 2017, becoming the first all-suite paddlewheel riverboat to operate on the Mississippi River system and establishing a new standard for luxury inland cruising. Like her sister vessels, she was created through an extensive maritime conversion, utilizing the durable steel hull of a river vessel originally built in 1995. Reconstructed from the deck upward at Gulf Island Shipyard in Houma, Louisiana, the 340-foot vessel was transformed into an elegant boutique riverboat designed to accommodate 166 guests while exploring the historic waterways of the Mississippi, Ohio, and Tennessee river systems.

Blending the classic charm of traditional paddlewheel steamboats with modern marine technology, the American Duchess offers a distinctive combination of historic styling and contemporary comfort.
