The American Freedom is a modern U.S.-flagged product tanker built to enhance the safe and efficient transportation of petroleum products within the United States. Delivered in 2017 by Philly Shipyard in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the vessel was constructed for Crowley Maritime Corporation as part of the company's fleet modernization program. Measuring approximately 600 feet (183 meters) in length with a deadweight of around 50,000 metric tons, the tanker can carry up to 330,000 barrels of refined petroleum products, including gasoline, diesel fuel, and jet fuel. Designed using an advanced Hyundai Mipo Dockyard hull form, the American Freedom combines fuel efficiency with excellent maneuverability while featuring double-hull construction, automated cargo handling systems, and LNG-ready technology for potential future conversion to cleaner propulsion.

Since entering service, the American Freedom has operated along the U.S. East, Gulf, and West Coasts, transporting vital energy products between refineries, storage terminals, and major ports under the requirements of the Jones Act.
