The American Endurance is a modern U.S.-flagged product tanker built to strengthen America's domestic petroleum transportation network under the Jones Act. Delivered in 2017 by Philly Shipyard in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the vessel was constructed for Crowley Maritime Corporation as part of a new generation of environmentally advanced tankers. Measuring approximately 600 feet (183 m) in length with a deadweight of about 50,000 metric tons, the American Endurance is capable of transporting up to 330,000 barrels of refined petroleum products, including gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel. Designed with a fuel-efficient hull developed by Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, the tanker also features double-hull construction, automated cargo handling systems, and LNG-ready technology for potential future conversion to cleaner-burning fuel.
