The F/V Ocean Hunter is a highly rugged commercial fishing vessel designed to operate in some of the most demanding marine environments on Earth. Based out of her home port of Kodiak, Alaska, this specialized 95-foot vessel features a heavily reinforced steel hull engineered to handle the severe, volatile weather conditions of the Bering Sea. Custom-built with a 25-foot breadth and a deep 15-foot draft, the ship is primarily configured as an industrial Weathervane Scallop harvester that transitions to groundfish and Pacific Cod netting during the winter seasons, utilizing massive internal refrigerated holds to preserve its catch.

Throughout its active commercial career, the Ocean Hunter established a formidable reputation for durability and structural resilience. Driven by a powerful 850-horsepower diesel engine, the vessel’s layout incorporates a forward-facing superstructure to optimize the massive aft deck space required for handling heavy scallop dredges and hydraulic deck machinery while protecting the crew from freezing sea spray.
