Description

LCU-1700 – 30-Inch Handcrafted Wooden Model

Celebrate the next generation of amphibious logistics with a handcrafted replica of the LCU-1700, the United States Navy's newest Landing Craft Utility. Developed to replace the long-serving LCU-1610 class, the LCU-1700 is designed to transport Marines, armored vehicles, heavy equipment, and cargo from amphibious assault ships directly to shore without requiring established port facilities. Combining modern engineering with enhanced cargo capacity and improved reliability, the LCU-1700 represents the future of expeditionary logistics.

Our 30-inch handcrafted LCU-1700 model is individually built using the traditional plank-on-frame construction method by experienced artisans. Carefully selected Western Red Cedar, Teak, and Mahogany provide exceptional strength, beautiful wood grain, and a premium handcrafted finish worthy of museum-quality display.

Every detail has been faithfully reproduced, including the spacious cargo deck, reinforced bow ramp, navigation bridge, heavy-duty fenders, deck fittings, cranes, radar systems, and propulsion arrangement. Each component is handcrafted individually to capture the vessel's distinctive military appearance while maintaining outstanding accuracy.

Designed to operate independently in challenging coastal environments, the LCU-1700 is capable of carrying tanks, armored vehicles, engineering equipment, and humanitarian supplies directly onto beaches and undeveloped shorelines. Its shallow draft, robust construction, and improved seakeeping characteristics make it an essential component of modern amphibious operations. This handcrafted model honors the logistical backbone that enables naval and Marine Corps forces to project power wherever needed.

The 30-inch version provides the perfect display size for military collectors, veterans, and maritime enthusiasts. It showcases the vessel's impressive cargo configuration while remaining compact enough for offices, display cabinets, libraries, and museums.

Each LCU-1700 model is individually handcrafted over approximately 3–6 months. During production, you'll receive detailed progress updates covering:

- Hull construction
- Cargo deck and superstructure assembly
- Final painting and finishing

Every stage is completed only after your review and approval.

Secure Worldwide Delivery

After final approval, your completed model will be securely packed inside a custom-built wooden shipping crate with multiple protective layers to ensure safe international delivery.

Bring home a handcrafted LCU-1700 model and celebrate one of the U.S. Navy's most capable amphibious logistics platforms—a timeless tribute to military engineering, craftsmanship, and maritime excellence.
The LCU-1700 (Landing Craft Utility 1700) represents the United States Army's next generation of landing craft, developed to replace the long-serving LCU-1610 fleet. Designed to support expeditionary logistics and amphibious operations, the new class provides increased cargo capacity, greater operational range, and improved survivability while transporting tanks, armored vehicles, troops, and heavy equipment directly from ship to shore. Construction began during the early 2020s as part of the Army's modernization program.

The LCU-1700 features an enlarged hull, modern propulsion systems, advanced navigation technology, and enhanced crew accommodations to support extended deployments. Capable of operating independently or alongside joint military forces, the vessel significantly improves the Army's ability to sustain operations in contested littoral environments. As the newest generation of utility landing craft, the LCU-1700 is expected to remain a key element of U.S. military sealift capability for decades to come.
