Staten Island Ferry

Celebrate the history of New York Harbor with this fully assembled Staten Island Ferry wooden ship model, inspired by the iconic ferry service connecting St. George on Staten Island with Whitehall Street in Lower Manhattan. Serving millions of passengers each year, the Staten Island Ferry is an important part of New York City’s transportation history and maritime heritage.

Master craftsmen handcraft each model from scratch using historical photographs, drawings, and original plans. Built to scale from high-grade Western Red Cedar, rosewood, and mahogany, the model uses traditional plank-on-frame construction, closely reflecting the techniques used to build full-size wooden vessels. Each model requires hundreds of hours of skilled craftsmanship and undergoes demanding quality control before leaving the workshop.

The model accurately recreates the ferry’s original colors, with detailed wood and metal fittings throughout. Authentic touches include open window sills, meticulously crafted and painted wooden lifeboats, masts, railings, and barrels arranged on the upper deck. Fully assembled and ready for display, it makes a distinctive centerpiece for maritime collections, New York-themed décor, offices, libraries, and homes.
