Each model is individually built by experienced craftsmen using the traditional plank-on-frame construction method—the same principle used in authentic wooden shipbuilding. We select only premium hardwoods, including Western Red Cedar, Teak, and Mahogany, to ensure exceptional durability, fine craftsmanship, and a timeless finish.

Every element is carefully recreated, from the distinctive tug hull and elevated bridge to the specialized bow structure, Intercon coupling system, industrial deck piping, cargo manifolds, navigation mast, working deck, and the vessel's modern commercial livery. The OSG Vision is a highly sophisticated articulated tug-barge (ATB) tug vessel that forms a critical backbone of America’s modern domestic energy supply chain. Commenced at Bender Shipbuilding and completed in 2010 by VT Halter Marine in Pascagoula, Mississippi, for the Overseas Shipholding Group (OSG), this massive 153-foot tug was custom-engineered from the keel up to operate as a single, unified unit in tandem with the 652-foot petroleum product barge OSG 350. Utilizing an advanced INTERcon coupler system with 64-inch mechanical pins, the tug locks securely into the notch of the barge, combining the economic efficiency of a barge with the sea-keeping reliability of a traditional ship.

Powered by twin diesel engines producing 12,100 horsepower, the OSG Vision ATB unit regularly transports up to 342,000 barrels of refined petroleum products along the volatile coastal waters of the U.S. Gulf and Atlantic coasts. This innovative dual-hull configuration allows the vessel to safely maintain high cruising speeds even during severe open-ocean weather conditions while strictly complying with modern environmental mandates.
