Description

First introduced in 1971 by Charles Morgan, the American Morgan Out Island 41 became one of the most popular cruising sailboats in the U.S. during the 1970s and 1980s. Designed for comfort and long-distance cruising rather than racing, it featured a spacious center-cockpit layout and generous accommodations. This 36-inch handcrafted model is meticulously built using the traditional plank-on-frame method and premium-grade woods, including Red Cedar, Teak, and Mahogany,... the Out Island 41 features a center cockpit design, which allows for a spacious aft cabin and improved safety at sea. Its wide beam and shallow draft make it suitable for coastal cruising and anchoring in shallow waters. We build each model until you are fully satisfied. During production, we’ll send you detailed photos at each key stage: - Hull construction - Deck detailing and structures - Final painting and finishing touches Once the final version is approved, your model will be securely packed in a custom wooden crate with protective cushioning to ensure safe delivery anywhere in the world. Designed by Charles Morgan, this vessel was conceived to provide comfortable and spacious accommodations for extended voyages, making it a favorite among liveaboard sailors and charter companies. Measuring 41 feet in length, the Out Island 41 features a center cockpit design, which allows for a spacious aft cabin and improved safety at sea. Its wide beam and shallow draft make it suitable for coastal cruising and anchoring in shallow waters. The boat's robust fiberglass construction and simple rigging contribute to its reputation for durability and ease of maintenance. The interior layout typically includes a forward V-berth, a main salon with a dinette and settee, a galley, and an aft master stateroom with an en-suite head. The generous use of teak and thoughtful design elements creates a warm and inviting living space. Over its production run, more than 1,450 units were built, solidifying its status as one of the most successful cruising sailboats of its time.
