Batavia Ship Model Admiral Line

Step into one of the most fascinating chapters of maritime history with the Batavia, a meticulously handcrafted replica of the famous Dutch East India Company (VOC) ship.

Launched in 1628, the Batavia was built for the VOC and set sail on her maiden voyage to the East Indies. Tragically, she was shipwrecked off the coast of Western Australia. The events that followed—including a notorious mutiny and massacre among the survivors—made the Batavia one of the most infamous shipwrecks in maritime history.

This fully assembled model is handcrafted from scratch by master artisans using historical photographs, drawings, and original plans as references. Built to scale from premium woods such as Western Red Cedar, Rosewood, and Mahogany, each model showcases exceptional attention to historical detail and traditional craftsmanship.

Using the plank-on-frame construction method, the model is built in a manner closely inspired by the construction of full-size wooden ships. Every piece is individually handcrafted and requires hundreds of hours of skilled workmanship to complete.

Before leaving our workshop, each Batavia model undergoes a rigorous quality-control process to ensure outstanding craftsmanship, accuracy, and finish.
