Description

19th century racing yacht America was given its name after the first international sailing trophy that it won - the America's Cup. This handmade model is built plank on frame from cherry wood by master craftsmen in accordance with original plans, pictures, and drawings. Features include three main masts with fabric sails and hand-stitching, bowsprit, tiller, wooden bunkers, and an exquisitely varnished hull in natural grain. A wooden stand with nameplate bearing the name of "America 1851" is included. Light assembly is required as the masts are folded flat down in shipping.
